98 V70 Rear Shock Upper Mount V70-XC70 1998

Any of you who have changed out your own rear shocks know that the upper shock mount attaches to the body of the car with two bolts which thread into nuts, which are welded to the underside of the body.

In attempting to remove my driver's side upper mount, I managed to break the weld on one of those nuts. Now the bolt/nut spin freely and prevent the removal of the mount. I could remove the bolt by cutting it with a Dremel, but I face the problem of reinstallation. I am hoping that there is sufficient clearance to put a socket and extension up from under the car and thread the nut into it from above.

Has anyone encountered this problem? How did you deal with it.
