low beam failure s80 2004

Hello,
I would like to share with you some annoying recent experience with driving late evening my s80 2004 and getting message "Low beam failure". I took the first possible exit from I39 interstate and board the motel as it was getting darker and driving without lights was impossible. All front lights went out. No running high/low beam head lights or day running lights, just nothing. Next morning I saw antoher message "Day light lamp failure". I checked fuses and found the #1 15A fuse is burned. This is the head lights low beam (STD)fuse. I replaced the fuse and all lights came back. It is very puzzling that one bad fuse can turn off all of the front lights and stop you in the dark making driving dangerously and impossible. The same time following fuses:
#2 Heads lights high beam,
#10 day running light left
#11day running light right
were good.
I would think that for safety at least some lights should stay running while one out of four fuses is burnt. Stoping on interstade in the dark not always is safe.

Best regards,

qmechanic
