Oil leak at drain plug 850

This is starting to bug me. A year ago, I picked up this 1996 rescue and it has left a small drop of oil on the garage floor. Nothing to worry about and not a major mess, I finally changed the oil last September.

When I removed the drain plug, there was a copper washer! Darn quick oil change places! I had assumed that was the cause of my leak. New crush washer, 25lbs of torque and then I watched. Still a drop of oil hanging from the plug and one on the floor.

I have since tightened it up to about 40lbs of torque and still have a drop of oil. No, it is not coming from above, it would have to miss the entire engine and fall directly on the drain plug.

This is an NA engine with no other apparent leaks, anywhere.

Do I try a new drain plug? And dump 6 quarts of very nice oil?
