really dead battery 850

I left my ignition in the 'on' position - ignition II - all night on my 850 and my battery was dead this morning - it was totally flat. Got it started with a jump this morning, then drove abt 90miles, and turned the car off at my destination. went to start it 20mins later, and nothing. can't even get it started with a car starter. Lights work and other accessories but when I turn the ignition I barely get a click.

I've had dead batteries before, but can it be so dead that i can't get any kind of slow turn-over with the jump on it? could leaving the ignition II on all might ruin the battery? It only a little over a year old.
would appreciate any help on this
