245DL Weird Electrical Problems - Alternator, Voltage Regulator, Etc. 1987

Blew fuse, fixed. Turned out it wasn't charging then. Lights dimmed, car sputtered to a stop. Put it on trickle charge, battery fine. Autozone test said voltage regulator was bad. Put in new cheapo voltage regulator. Then, test said it was only putting out 12.3. Called my normal parts guy at Voluparts, and he said it was most probably the alternator. Put in rebuilt one, and it is only generating 12.6. Any ideas?

Also, how long do you think I can drive it like that with headlights on before I need to put it on the trickle charge? Have something to do in New Orleans tonight, but have to cross the world's longest bridge to get there and back. TIA
