Door lock doesn't function in hot weather V70-XC70 2000

Have searched the site for this particular issue: In cooler weather, the remote keyless entry locks and unlocks all five doors as it should.

When it's hot outside and/or when the car is in direct sunlight, the remote will not unlock or lock the driver's door and it must be opened with the key. All of the other doors will lock/unlock. The same symptoms occur when the locking system is cycled in short order, even in cool weather: no driver's door locking.

Is this a typical early symptom of door lock failure?
