One tooth will not break your car and the engine will adjust and run nicely. But, it is not perfect. Nor is the locking cam tool.

This time, you should have turned the engine over twice by hand and then rechecked the marks. I normally take out the spark plugs; it makes turning the engine much easier and if there is going to be trouble it can be easily felt.

I prefer to be 'on the mark' before I have a beer and start the engine.
