Intermittent Starter 850 96

Has anyone had problems with intermittent starters? I have a new battery, the cables check ok and are clean, and the solenoid engages, but the starter motor will not crank. Jump starting also doesnt help. This is the third starter motor in 5 months so I doubt if thats what it is (the last 2 replaced under warrenty). I jumpered a seperate ground from the engine direct to the battery and still have the problem. I'm going to install another pos battery cable and bypass the existing one and see if that works (I doubt that it will).

If the shift solinoid, or trans lockout switch was bad I wouldnt expect the starter solinoid to engage at all.

Does anyone else have any Ideas?

Thanks
