Either model would work in your car actually, and I think they're quite similar to each other. There might still be some refurbished SC-816s at dealers, which IIRC, were listing at about $300, but it was on an exchange basis unless the parts guy just happened to let you. The one in my 854 is an SC-815 but I have a friend that got an SC-816 for his '96 855 and it slid right in also.
