With a Volvo 850 Automatic? 850 1995

Here are the Road and Track numbers:

1994 Volvo 850 Turbo wagon (automatic) R&T March '94 0-30 2.8, 0-60 7.4, 0-90 14.9, 1/4 mile 15.5@92.5

1984 Porsche Carrera coupe R&T February '84 0-30 2.2, 0-60 6.2, 0-80 10.2 0-100 16.2, 1/4 mile 14.6@96

If you raced a "classic" Porsche Carrera (1984-1989, came with a 5-speed only) the guy wasn't racing, couldn't shift or needed a tune-up. Badly. Your pick.

I would expect a C70 HP 5-speed coupe to more than keep up with a Carrera....at least until the first corner.

You can out-drag a 944 NA with an 850 Turbo Auto, easily, a non-turbo 944 has less than 150hp, but he'll lose you as soon as you get to the first corner. Drag racing wasn't what Porsche engineers had in mind when they designed the 944. The 944 Turbo is another story.

Note: Racing on the street, particularly with people who don't know they're racing you is dangerous, etc. Take it to the track.
