How did you remove the top cover? 850

once you get the radio unit out of the car there are four very small screws that hold the top cover in place, unscrew them and you will see the volume control knob. I went on and removed the front faceplate and unscrewed the volume knob assembly. the three slider and the volume knobs pull off before getting the plate off. the plate comes off pretty easily by separating the backing plate and the plastic face plate. Don't know if there was any advantage in doing this as i was not able to remove the volume control knob assembly from the printed circuit board that it was attached to at the base of the unit, you'll see. there is abunch of wires that attach the volume control assembly to the pcb. Anyways, i just held the volume control assembly and sprayed it with the cleaner. reinstalled the components and now its as good as new. although now i want one of the cd player ones instead. Anyone selling theirs?
