Code reset problem 850 1995

CEL again, Ok, Ok, I know.

I'll have to r/r the sensor as soon as I can but it's caused a CEL for the third time in 2,000 miles. (At 83,000, 83,440 and now just under 85,000) Question is, while going over car one weekend recently, (no CEL) out of curiosity I checked for codes and got the 4-3-5 for the front 02 sensor. It could not be reset so I figured that the ECU would have to accumulate X number of errors from the sensor before it would trigger the CEL and then allow it to be reset.

Well the light's on now and it can't be reset. I'm guessing the sensor is finally toast and the ECU won't allow a reset. Am I right? Please, no boots in the butt, I've been swamped at work and home.
