Volvo 850 1996

Thanks to the help of a friend, I did this myself.

The car must be put on a lift.
Engine subframe must be removed
Steering rack needs to be removed from subframe and subframe needs to be dropped.
Axles need to be removed from tranny.
Ball joints need to be disconnected.
Tranny needs to be pulled
Flywheel needs to be removed.
The remove seal/replace
Reinstall everything.

It took about 10 hours to do it. Part was $15. Dealer wanted $1,100. I have a 5 speed and did my clutch while I was in there and replaced the tranny fluid as well. Cost me just shy of $300 for all parts.

Just a word of advice, have your $10 a piece axle seals replaced while they're in there. Mine started leaking about a week after I did the main seal job.
