850 AWD no rear drive 850

I got an 850 AWD and noticed that when i give it the big one i can wheel spin it in 1st and 2nd, and just tonight pickin up the children from school i was parked halfway on a wet grass verge, went to pull off and just had front wheel spin, tracs was kicking in but there is only so much compensation it will make, drove the car hard down a hill (60mph) and hit the brakes hard,ABS working fine, Tracs working fine, so i assume that the viscose coupling has gone slightly pearshaped in the gearbox.
What is a viscose coupling and is it difficult to do, does anyone know.
Thanx
