engine misfire on and off 850

It really sounds like it could be the fuel filter. It isn't hard to change, directions at Bay 13 and the Haynes manual. Put in a new one and let us know. I might be more inclined to suspect the rotor/cap if you hadn't mentioned it started after a fill up. It probably wouldn't have gone away then returned either if that was the problem. I think the recomendation is every 30k miles for the rotor and cap, so no harm in changing if it hasn't been done for a while, or you aren't sure of the maintenance history.
