PLEASE HELP!! URGENT S80 2001

I've heard that when the serp belt breaks (yes, it's a 60K replacement interval part) and IF it takes the t-belt out too, the damage is suppose to be much worse than on older 850s. A dealer would give a quote for a Volvo OEM reman installed only so I can see that price and that's what I've heard from people elsewhere too.
If one could find a used engine elsewhere and a shop who'ld do it, that would a cheaper option. Replacing an S80 engine is no easy thing compared to older 5 cyl models for example.
