850 dies and won't start 850 1996

Got a 96 850 turbo wagon. You'll be driving along and it acts like it runs out of gas and won't start back up. If you wait about 10 minutes it will start and may run all day. Sometimes if you turn it off it won't start back up, unless you wait the ten minutes. It's been doing that for a year but not very often at all. Just lately it has started with the running out of gas thing. Read about the flame trap. Never touched it but I read where I should just take it out. Going to do that tomorrow as well as change the rotor and cap, something else I've never done. This may or may not be an important symptom...seems like it MIGHT be doing this when the gas tank is at 1/4 or less. Thought I might have a weak fuel pump or something. Dunno. It's got about 90,000 miles on it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
