Portable GPS Unit - Where & How to mount it ? S70 1998

Which unit do you have? I ordered the RAM windshield suction cup mount for my GPS V from gpsdiscount.com and it works very well. The mount has a quick release screw so you can remove the gps unit without removing the suction mounting. I used it on 2000 mile trip and it was great. Check out:

One other thing. Make sure you still know where you're going when you use the unit. My unit does autorouting. We became such gps cripples that we (actually I) stopped checking the route and destination calculated by the unit. We told it to take us to our hotel in PA and it took us to the doorstep of the "Henry Miller Cow Farm" due to a street address error. So, it's an aid and not a replacement for your brain ;-)

On other thing, Kenny. These units universally piss off the wife, so be careful. I heard things like, "I've been navigating for you for more than 10 years and you listen to that retarded piece of crap instead of me!" Then they start keeping score, "Retarded GPS 0, Wife 5" When I returned from my trip I found out that others had this same experience with their own wife. One guy had it even worse, because his unit spoke and understood voice commands. "You talk to that GPS more than me" His wife didn't speak to him for the whole night.

So be careful out there if you have autorouting capability ;-)
