1998 V70 T5 power locks problem V70-XC70 1998

V70Tired has nailed it. I have the same problem right now, and it occured just that way ... trying to open the door electrically while a "friend" tried to open it manually.

Indeed, it is so common, that a DIY repair procedure has been posted on Bay 13. The only problem is that, as you work your way down to the precise page where the illustrated procedure exists, the URL on your browser does not change, so I will have to walk you thru the sequence:

Begin here: http://www.volvospeed.com/volvo_performance.php
Click "REPAIRS/MAIENTENANCE"
Click anywhere inside the workshop image.
Scroll down to "LATCHES/DOORS"
Click "DOOR LATCH"
Clear your calendar for several days and begin.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
