'95 850 Starter/Solenoid/Ignition Problem 850 1995

Thanks Pete.

I tore apart the ignition cylinder/switch on the column column and you were correct. When using a screwdriver in the electrical switch, the starter engages instantly and disengages as soon as I release pressure from the 'start' position to the 'run' position.

Cancelled the starter and going to drive it for a few days to see what is going on in the electrical switch. I didn't disassemble this switch, but it appears that this switch is simply a spring loaded contact plate that rotates with the key cylinder to make a connection between the different leads feeding into the switch? It appears that the only thing holding the leads in proper position (inserted far enough into the switch to hit the contact plate) is the black plastic cover plate?

I'll post a separate post about this switch in case you haven't torn one apart.

Thanks for your help and have a great holiday.
