Enging running too cold causes 'Check Engine' light? 850 1996

It sounds more like the ETC sensor. My thermostat was bad and it did not trip the CE light. When I changed the thermostat, I went ahead and did the sensor too. I had it off, so it was easy to do at one time. Total time to do the job was about 35 minutes.
