Trip meter and odometer don't advance; all other combined instrument functions are OK 850 1994

Trip meter and odometer used to work well. When I reset the trip meter last week (we do this for each tank of gas) the trip meter went to zero and stayed there. The odometer also is not advancing. The speedometer and all other VDO combined instrument functions are OK.

Anybody got any suggestions?
