850 Turbo Shiftlock?

First thing I would do is to contact Volvo NA customer service to see if there is an open recall for this on your car. When I bought my '95 855T, I asked them if there weere any recalls that had not been done on my car, and this shift lock interface was the only one it needed. So far, I have let it go, thinking I would get a few more years out of this one while it is fine, and a longer life out of the free replacement. You can't beat getting a needed repair done for free, so give it a check.
