Radio compatibility and differences...need help 850 1994

I have a black faced sc810 radio in my '94 850 (no cd) want to replace it with a volvo unit with single cd. What are the differences in model sc815 and sc816? Are both wired so that they will just plug into the car? Also, whats the story on color of the units? I called on a sc816 from a s70 '98 from a salvage yard and was told the unit was brown???? I have never seen a brown volvo radio, only grey and black.
