A/C Problem S70 2000

I don't know why the dealer replaced the evaporator. That would mean you didn't have enough r134a in the system. You did, 45psi is good. I would have replaced the compressor first. Cannot they check if the fluid is moving around? There aren't any valves in the evaporator to open and close. I hate it when dealers throw darts at a problem. You would think that they should know how to diagnose a problem on a VOLVO. That's all they work on.

I am having the same problem. When it is really hot, no AC and no codes. It seems to work a little bit at higher rpm (2500+). After 5 minutes at idle, the clutch never disengages and the vent air is warm. The PO had a remanufactured compressor put in. Still $$$. How do you tell if the clutch is slipping, and why does it work when the outside temp is 75?
