There is bumping noise in my rear end. When it bumps I could feel it through the floor. It happens when I make a tight turn (left or right) in the morning when everything is still cold. It only happens in the forward motion but not in reverse. Once the car worms-up the bumping (noise) seldom occurs. I could force it to occur by making a hard turn.
Today it snowed. I accelerated, straight forward, relatively hard on the snow covered surface. I suspect that it was hard enough to cause transfer of torque to the rear. It caused bumping in the rear.
I suspect that this has something to do with the viscous coupling, but I can't figure out what could be making the noise.
Your expanation/solution would be appreciated very much.
For your info, I just had the drive shaft replaced because the rubber damper on the hanger delaminated. It was originally thought that the hanger may have caused the noise.
