2001 volvo s40 heating blower problem

hi again,
the power stage is the unit that controls the fan speed by limiting the amount of current that the fan motor recieves. it is a aluminium heatsink housing with a transistor mounted in the middle of it and has a black three pin electrical connector on the bottem of it. its mounted in the air ducting next to the fan motor but all you can see of it from below is the plug connector you have to undo 2 phillips screws to remove it.
im afraid it cant really be tested however if there is power and an earth going to it and the fan doesnt run then its usually the problem,if you had access to another good unit you could try swap them and check this.
good luck.

steve.
