What impact has Ford had on Volvo? S70

So far the only new thing is cheaper quality cars with the same price-S60, S80.
Now we have global platform in the Mazda 3, Volvo 40. Old S80 platform with CVT! is in Ford/Mercury twins. Where are replacements for S60 & S80? Until we see those I dont know. Perhaps we will see something like what GM is doing.. Saab 9-2X anybody?
The best I personally hope for, is Volvo will ditch that VADIS and get with the program like everybody is doing.
