The 850's are more complex animals than the 2-700's, maintance intensive, a pain to work on (common to all sidewinder engines), very safe and great fun to drive. My 240 left me walking once, the 740 twice and the 850 none so far. They have a couple very $$$$$ quirks (1) A/C evaporator >$1000., rear main seal ~$1000. and a broken timing belt destroyes the engine unlike the red engines where you just coast to a stop. The trannys are devoid of a filter and no ATF change is recommended so a lot of the old 850's have the origional fluid still in them (not good). Check maint. records.
