no, both cars are US models.

I wonder what the result, or rather the risk would be of removing the flame trap. I'm sure many do it, and I have not yet heard a negative result, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. I can't imagine the dealer would remove them either, as they might be liable for doing so (and they aren't incented in any way to remove them).
