Black stuff coming from exhaust????? V70-XC70 1998

Reporting back: That is my car with the black stuff...I tried running it harder than normal for a round-trip to work, about 80miles total. The temp guage stayed at 3 oclock and now the black gunk is gone. I guess all it needed was to be run hard instead of babied...Thanks for your help!
