We have a 99 V70R, which will typically run hotter due to the high-pressure turbo, and we've been fine with mid-grade (89 octane) gas in it. It doesn't feel like we're suffering any loss of power. Same with the '99 C70, which has the low-pressure turbo.

For our '97 850 Base, standard-grade (87 octane) was fine.
