To Cruise or Not To Cruise 850

My 96 has exactly the same symptoms,it's winter here in Oz so everything works OK at the moment.
My local Volvo mechanic swapped out the control module in the fuse box with a known working one during summer and proved the fault to the module.
Shades of ABS module disease?
