Shift Lever Button S70

A comment and kind of a question for KlausC and MadeInJapan. I can see WD-40 doing the job to free a sticky part, it has solvents and is a cleaner, but I have found that WD-40 "goes away" relatively soon. Would a followup with a silicon spray be advisable?
