High Engine Temperature Message in heavy stop/go traffic (I-5) V70-XC70 2001

Thanks, I did not actually check the fluid level but should. All of my Volvos over the years seem to activate a warning light if the fluid level even went down a cup. I know these indicator switches can fail and I shouldn't trus my engine to them. Also, no obstruction of air flow though some of the radiator coils seem dented from years of rocks/ sticks. The fan not working properly seems like a good idea. I am trying to get an appt. at a dealer for a check up. Thanks, Tom
