Hmmm...isolate the oil leak. RMS is the expensive repair. However, may only be the turbo return line ( $10 parts and $65 labor if you pay someone).

Do yourself a big favor and have a reputable Volvo shop inspect the car for you.

I've a 1995 850 which I have maintained very well - like another said, mine is worth more than $4k to me. Unfortunately, the market is not kind to older Volvo's.
