The V50 is the station wagon version of the Volvo S40 compact near-luxury car / small family car, produced by the Swedish automaker Volvo Cars.
It is based on the Volvo P1 platform shared with the Mazda Mazda3, and the new European Ford Focus. Ford Motor Company's Premier Automotive Group assembles the V50 at the Volvo factory in Ghent, Belgium.
Ford actually sells a Euro version of the Focus with the Volvo Turbo 5 with Ford cam covers!
I looked at the car a couple years ago, but I couldn't actually drive one because there isn't enough footspace for my Size 13s.
Caveat emptor!

"The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair." -- Douglas Noel Adams (1952-2001)
