replacing fuel level sending unit, but have questions. Need help!!! 850 1995

I bought a replacement Fuel level sending unit part number 9480918 from FCP Groton and they tell me that they (must sell with float 9463238).

Does any one have experience on how I should install this unit with this float piece? This other piece has definately thrown me for a loop here. Pictures and explaination would be awesome. Currently working on car now, need to get this done soon. Thanks.
