Personally I wouldn't sabbotage the turbo. If he has any brains he'll figure it out anyway and get it running right again. The ECU on this car works in tandem with a fully functional turbo. If you don't want your son having a turbo car then sell the car and buy him an NA (non-aspirated) car.
