From my experiance and a few others, the angle gear oil morphs into something other than oil at around the 100K mark. It must be flushed at that point and dealers do not do that as routine maint, just like flushing the tranny fluid.
If you do not need AWD, then don't bother with potential problems.
Volvo changed the AWD for 02 and later models and is much more reliable.
