Replacing axles is beyond me. There are some hints on volvospeed.com
The best advice is to make sure you get OEM, the seals fit into the trans better.

The seat belt is probably twisted inside some where. Just slowly pull it all of the way out and look for a twist or two. Let it back in slowly so it winds smoothly.
