I've done mine a while ago. I didn't go oem and we shall see over time. I didn't have to replace the axle seals as they didn't leak any fluid out (so I returned the one I bought). It's been over 2 years and working fine with lots of daily driving.
The only rule that I followed was to get a new axle, not a reman one. I'm sure that there are many reputable places, but I have read about many bad experiences with reman ones. I got mine at Auto Parts express, it was new and has a lifetime warranty on it. It was $119.00.
