Flaus, thanks for your comment... whilst I see the relevance to 800/v70 series, I am interested to know if this applies to older wheels like my '88 240. The EZ-116K system (on B230F) does not seem to refer back to transmission.

One other characteristic of my 240 is that it always runs cool - very cool even in summer... I've replaced the thermostatic valve, checked the coolant (clean - no deposit), levels correct...
