That would only apply to the transmission control unit, which now has to "learn" the current driving style.
It is also possible that some trouble codes had been stored in the ECU and the engine was being compensated for them. It is always good practice to check and clear any codes every 6 months. Not all codes will light the check engine light/lambda.
