Software upgrade required with new MAF installation? S80 2000

Thanks for your response Klaus.

I will have the dealer take care of the software once I get there. In the mean time, I'm wondering if disconnecting the battery for a while will reset things and help the ECU to recognize the new part - similar to what happens when new hardware is discovered on your computer.
