I just reread my post and found it confusing. Meant to say Volvo reliability "sux compared to the old days." As you said, little things may break, but you don't get towed. I've been driving 240s for 25 years and have been towed twice--my fault in each case because I ignored warning signs (one I knew and one I should have known). BTW, I'm ialso looking for something newer that '93 245, but can't find anything which I believe to be better (including a 2008 xc70).
