SIPS mechanical side airbag 850 1997

There are no momentum sensors for the SIPS bag.

The trigger needs to be physically crushed to activate the primer charge, which then activates the airbag charge. By installing the protective clip it prevents the trigger from being activated.

It's a mechanically activated airbag, not electrical.

I believe the door and seat are specifically designed to be able to provide proper contact with the trigger mechanism in a side impact.
