I've done the "lean on it" method of bending the arm back down, but that's a temporary fix. The method above consists of grinding down the little ears on the underside of the arm (circled in the picture). This allows the arm to bend a bit further increasing the contact with the windshield. This has worked great for me for about six months now.
If you remove the arm, brush the metal shavings off of the little splined stub on the wiper motor and be careful not to rotate the arm too much on the splines. The metal is soft and prone to stripping loose from the motor shaft. Then the wiper just flops around. Not fun in a rain/snowstorm.
