There is less room in the V40 than a 244 sedan, leg room and trunk storage room. Sure, it gets OK gas mileage, but so does a 2000 V70 at about that same price. My 1998 awd gets 27-28 highway and around 21 local and is fairly easy to maintain. And plenty of pep for those long hills.
