General Reliability V40 Question. S40-V40

On my second V40 - the first (2.0T) I had for 5 years - no real issues until it stared misbehaving at around 120,000 miles (engine kept dying - could never get to the bottom of it).
Tried a V 90 and didn't suit me. This V40 (2.0) does 33-33 miles per UK gallon (pretty god for its size). I bought it at 55,000 and it's now on 110,000.

Only problem so far with this one is the alternator has just started to play up - but it's an old car, so I guess it's entitled to have it's aches and pains!

I would definitely get another.
